London Festival of Archtecture, East High Street 2012
On 27 June 2010 We opened for a special day of activities as part of the London Festival of Architecture. As well as guided tours of the House Mill there were family activities and boat trips on the River Lea, local walks and tours of Three Mills Lock. There was a display of artifacts found in the archaeological dig on the Olympic Park, a treasure hunt and creative activities for children. The Miller's Café was open for light refreshments and we had a barbecue in the garden.

The Cultural Olympiad
On Saturday 25 July 2009 the House Mill opened specially as part of the Cultural Olympiad at the request of Heritage Link who were running a 'Discover the Greenway' programme. “Discovering Places” is one of the major projects of the London 2012 Olympiad, and we were pleased to be included. As this was a Saturday and thus outside of our usual opening times we were delighted to see so many visitors to Three Mills Island, and to welcome many of them into the House Mill for a tour.

The Story of Three Mills
On 28 June 2009 the River Lea Tidal Mill Trust was delighted to take part in the "Story of London" initiative, organised by Mayor Boris Johnson. We felt it was a unique opportunity to tell the story of "Three Mills Island", and, together with our partners, Lee Valley Regional Park Authority (LVRPA), Thames 21 and British Waterways, were able to offer a variety of visitor experiences. These included free tours of the House Mill, by our volunteer guides, a poster exhibition to show progress of the Euston Arch stone project, tours of the newly opened Three Mills Lock, an update on the creation of Lea River Park. LVRPA Rangers were present to provide a wealth of information on the whole of the River Lea, their activities for the summer and with some wonderful exhibits. Local organisations such as East End Women's Institute and West Ham Allotment Society were on site with items for sale, and information on membership, and SHED set up their "Bygones Bazaar" in the ground floor of the House Mill, selling gardening artifacts and hardware from a bygone era.
The weather mostly stayed fair, EEWI provided cakes on their stall and the House Mill Cafe set up a BBQ in the garden. There were hundreds of visitors to the island and it was wonderful to see the island so busy, with so many different attractions available.
