To restore the House Mill machinery, meet the everyday running costs and develop an educational facility, River Lea Tidal Mill Trust needs to continuously fund raise. Funding from major sources, including Stratford’s City Challenge, English Heritage and the European Union have helped enormously in the past, but further funding is still needed. You can help by visiting the Mill, becoming a Friend of the Mill, a volunteer or by making a donation.
Friends of the House Mill
You can help support the project by becoming a Friend of the House Mill. We will send you a newsletter twice a year to keep you up to date with events and progress. You will also be entitled to free entry to the Mill for all of our public openings. Join the Friends by simply sending us £10.00 (or more) for a year’s subscription.
Become a volunteer
We are a small group of volunteers, working together to keep the House Mill open to the public. We are always happy to hear from people who are interested in joining us. We have vacancies for guides, receptionists (meeting and greeting visitors, and selling items from our small on site shop) and assistants in the small café. Full training is given for each of these roles, with a formal annual training day at the beginning of each Season, and several social events arranged throughout the year. Volunteering at the House Mill is an interesting and rewarding way of spending Sunday afternoons (we request one Sunday per month), and we would be delighted to hear from anyone who would like to join this small, friendly team.
Donations
Any sum, large or small, will be gratefully received and put to good use towards the upkeep of the House Mill. If you would like to make a regular donation, please contact us for details of how to contribute by Deed of Covenant. This is a very tax-efficient way to contribute as it enables us to reclaim tax from the Government. If you would like to make a donation in excess of £250.00, please request details of Gift Aid. |
